To think, somewhere, there was a Cal Poly grad drawing this on a drafting table while being supervised by a bitter, chain-smoking Caltech grad.

A bit unfairly forgotten, I'd say. It served well and did what it was designed for exceptionally, barring the crew gripes. Supposedly it could out-turn a MiG 15, and for a tubby lard of a nightfighter, that's impressive.
